: : I have a question about life insurance: Last week my wife had a mamogram. Earlier today the doctor called and said they need her to come in on Friday for more tests. If the previous test showed a problem, would it be too late to purchase life insurance? In other words, would the recent test results show up in underwriting and cause the policy to be declined?

: Bob generally that may be tough to determine. If for instance she is diagnosed by the doctor with cancer it may cause a decline. But if the test are negative it may have no effect. There are also guaranteed issue policies avaialble but the rates are of course higher. For the most part health plays a big part in getting coverage and that is determined by underwriters and MIB reports. It wouldn't hurt to submit an application because if the policy is not issued you would receice a refund of your initial premium. Hope this helps! Feel free to call or email me for any additional information.

Bob even with guaranteed issued insurance there are medical questions that have to be answered. If you reveal to an Insurance agent the information you have placed on this message board the agent in all probability will not take an application.
