Quick question in regards to a Virginia Life and Annuities license. I was going to go to work for Aflac, and to do so I needed to get my license to sell health insurance. Long story short, the pre-test class covered both life and health, and I found life and annuities interesting, so I took the test for, passed, and got both my licenses. Afterwards, I never actually went to work for Aflac, so my education into the insurance business stopped (for now). I am actively pursing a job in life insurance at the moment however, and I have a question. My Life and ANNUITIES license isn't enough for me to actually sell annuities? According to the information I found, it allows me to sell fixed annuities only, but to sell any sort of variable annuity, or variable life policy for that matter, I need to get my Series 6 (or 7)?

I am just trying to find out if this is true, and if it is true, why in the world doesn't Virginia just call the Life and Annuities license a Life License....

Thanks for any info
