: I am a former captive agent who resigned my appointment. Months later, I received bills, from Bankers Life & Casualty, claiming I owed commissions on business, although in good standing when I resigned, had since cancelled.

: BL&C claims I signed a contract binding me but they can not produce my signature. The agreement, in question, binds an active, appointed producer, but not a producer who left the company.

: Having prior experience in sales, I have never heard of this practice nor can I locate any information online. I would be interested in hearing from anyone in similar circumstances - either as a producer or an insurer.

: Thank you!

Gwen, read your original contract word for word there might be a clause in it stating their case, but it doesn't seem right. In my opinion, once you leave a company you have no other obligation to them in any way. Ask them if they will keep paying you on the insurance that is still on the books. John
