There are several things that you have to look at when looking into Medicaid and protecting your estate, one is the state that you live in. There are still several states that allow protection of assets such as Florida, Michigan and California. These states still allow the "balloon payment"
which is the vehicle to protect the cash assets. I would be happy to talk to you or anyone else about this subject in more detail and how it pertains to you. I can assure you if you follow the Deptartment of children and Families guidelines you will be fine. This is NOT fraud and is not looked at as such.
